As the BCB elections approach, the need for discussions and decision-making among the directors has increased. The BCB’s emergency meeting was held yesterday to focus on that continuous process. The main objective of the meeting was to determine the procedural outline of how the board will be run before the elections.
The meeting, which began at 2 pm in the BCB boardroom, was presided over by Board President Aminul Islam Bulbul. It is learned that the meeting also discussed the conduct of activities during the elections, the possible schedule of the upcoming EGM and AGM, and the possible councilor list of Dhaka Metropolitan club cricket organizers. Because the board has the opportunity to hold a maximum of one to two meetings before the elections.
Sources have learned that the BCB election schedule is final. The formalities will begin with the publication of the draft voter list on September 20. Nominations will be submitted on September 25. If everything goes well, the BCB election will be held on October 4. It is known that there will be an opportunity to vote by postal vote.
After the meeting, BCB Media and Umpires Department Chairman Iftekhar Rahman Mithu told the media, “BCB elections will be held in October. There are some continuous processes surrounding those elections, we have discussed them. As you know, three election commissioners have been announced, they have taken responsibility. We also needed some clear ideas, so we discussed when the letter will be sent, how it will be sent, etc. Everything will be clear by September 17.”
